Coffee and The Outdoors

Coffee, who doesn’t love a good cup of coffee? Coffee is so versatile and can be enjoyed and made in so many different ways. Cafetiere, Aeropress, Moka Pot, Pourover, Coffee bags, Espresso, Bean to cup Espresso, the list could go on forever. Everyone’s coffee experience is per to them. There is a feeling of comfort in every sip. It makes you feel some a sort of way especially if it’s made exactly how you like it.

There are so many ways for you to have and enjoy your coffee and so many ways to make it. One thing that seems to come hand in hand with coffee is the outdoors. Why though, how is this drink associated with the outdoors and camping? Well, in this post I am going to outline the reasons I believe that outdoor lovers are so often coffee lovers too.

How Coffee and The Outdoors go Hand in Hand

There are so many “Outdoor coffee brands”, but why? How does a drink like coffee and the outdoors work together and why are brands marketing to you for this?

I think that I may be able to answer the why.

It’s the way it makes you feel and the benefits of it. Picture this. You are 3 hours into a long hike or you’ve been out on the crag climbing for a few hours, the weather is stunning and you are starting to feel a bit tired. You sit down with a great view and start the brewing process (however you decide to do so). Your coffee is made, the smell hits your nose, and you take a sip… Bliss.

The feeling of a warm cup of coffee with a beautiful view while being in the best place on earth (the outdoors). If you’ve pictured that, tell me it doesn’t feel good? and make you want to venture outdoors.

That’s not all though. As I said, you’re feeling a little tired at this point o your adventure. There’s a beautiful substance in your brew called caffeine. On average a cup has around 95mg of caffeine in it. Caffeine stimulates the central nervous system. This means that when it reaches your brain, you will feel more awake, aware, and less tired.

This is also great for if you are out wild camping, or just camping in general. Waking up taking a step out of your tent brewing up and enjoying your drink in the outdoors with fresh air just feels right.

The Best Way to Enjoy Coffee Outdoors

Brewing up in the great outdoors can be as simple as water and a coffee bag or get a bit more complex with a Moka pot or Aeropress (they’re still fairly easy).

Aeropress

Using a Coffee bag is as simple as boiling some water get your bag in a cup add the water and boom. It’s that simple, and it makes a decent coffee.
